happy and relieved to see us grow up and let go of our childish habits but in all
honesty our furry counterparts could just stay babies forever that's just how
cute they are sometimes just in case you thought your baby pictures were the
cutest thing ever we'll counter that with a list of the cutest baby animals that
will make you reconsider baby animals are curious naïve big-eyed only possibly
making them just a wee bit more adorable than us human babies learning to grow
up and survive on their own takes quite some time leaving us plenty of

Baby Hippo
kings of the river lake and swamp these 3 thousand pound territorial bulls start off so tiny and helpless it'll melt your heart in an instant hippos weigh in at just about 100 pounds when they're born considering adult hippos are the second largest mammal after elephants this doesn't really seem like that much however a baby pygmy hippo will weigh in at just 13 pounds at birth which is just a little more than a large human baby hippos spend a total of 16 hours a day underwater so the babies have to suckle and feed while submerged luckily they can close their floppy ears and nostrils to get food from mama without needing to breathe underwater oh and hippos can't really swim they just sort of push off the bottom and float around in the water although they are too heavy to actually float it's more of an adorable bouncing around.
Baby Deer
When you see these little critters at birth the last thing on your mind is hunting deer are known for being calm and gentle animals many people even think of bambi the young and playful disney deer baby deer are called fawn and quickly recognized by their fluffy white tails and big antlers these helpless little babies are left alone while their mothers go off to feed she will stay away from the fawns to avoid leading predators to her young but does return twice a day to feed them female fawns will usually become independent from their mother after they turn 2 years old but young bucks leave after a year but let's be honest we wish they stayed cute little babies forever.
Baby Panda
Teddy bears got nothing on a newborn baby panda baby pandas are born looking like baby badgers furless pink and blind the iconic black and white color only comes later after about three weeks these adorable creatures spend up to 14 hours a day lazily rolling around and eating bamboo while sleeping 2-4 hours between each meal although they do grow sharp teeth and have the digestive tract of carnivores they don't really have the energy to chase anything so their prey would virtually have to land in their lap for them to eat any meat even as full-grown adults these peaceful vegetarians remain just as fluffy and adorable.
Baby Seal
Baby Hedgehog
If there's one thing cuter than a hedgehog it's a baby hedgehog baby hedgehogs are called hoglets and spend their first few weeks in a nest with their mother who sometimes will carry them in her mouth to a new location if disturbed at three or four weeks young hedgehogs will leave the nest to go on foraging trips with their mother after as little as 10 days of foraging with her mother the young will wander off to live on their own for such spiky little critters hedgehogs can be really cute a relaxed hedgehog will even allow you to pet him without curling up to hide his face just try not to melt from all the sweetness.
Baby Tiger
The tiger is one of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals and those born in the year of the tiger are thought to be brave competitive and self-confident but the same can't be said about fluffy little tiger babies tiger cubs are born so helpless they can barely even walk when they're born and did you know the tiger's mystical golden eyes are a trait that only adults possess babies are born with beautiful blue eyes which don't even open until they're about 10 days old at birth a cub weighs only 2.2 pounds and don't we wish it'd stay that way so we could adore these fluffy little cats all day long.
Baby Elephant
A baby elephant is called a calf and 99 of them are born at night this cuteness weighs in at about pounds of birth and can't see very well at first but then can recognize their mothers by touch scent and sound calves are born with adorable curly black or red hair on their foreheads at first baby elephants don't really know what to do with their trunks they will playfully swing them around and sometimes even step on them by mistake they will even suck their trunk as a human baby might suck its thumb baby elephants drink up to three gallons of milk a day and even though at about four months old they begin eating some plants like adults they continue to need milk from their mother for up to 10 years.
Baby Turtle
Watching a helpless baby turtle struggle out of its nest and make its way towards the water is an emotional experience everything from footprints to driftwood and crabs are obstacles these endearing creatures are born alone and immediately thrown into a harsh world of survival with birds raccoons and fish attempting to feed on them some experts say only one out of a thousand will survive to adulthood under natural conditions those numbers and their adorability would make anyone want to take in and protect such a cute little critter.
Baby Fox
Before they grow into the
beautifully shy animals we know them to be these creatures start off as the fluffiest
little cubs when fox pups are born they are unable to see hear or walk and
their mother must take good care of them when the pups are young their father hunts
and brings food back for the family foxes show great caring adaptability and intelligence
when raising their young as seen in a story reported in may 2009 a baby fox cub
was once caught in a snare for two weeks before being rescued while he was
unable to escape and badly injured he survived only because his mother brought
him food while he was trapped an act of love not seen amongst all animal
species before we reveal.
